(54) Method for Chronotherapy of patients with oxalate nephropathy

(57) Abstract:

The invention refers to medicine, namely to the methods for combined treatment of patients with the history of oxalate nephropathy using medications and mineral water. The method involves the application of still mineral water of 18°C temperature in a dose of 200 ml per intake within 18 days. As such water, MAXAQUA mineral water is in use mornings and evenings 20 minutes before meals and going to bed. The method enables to improve the results of renal treatment due to the reduction of the circadian rhythm of kidney function (Table 2).

The invention refers to medicine, namely to the methods for combined treatment of patients with the history of oxalate nephropathy using medications and mineral water.

Well known are the methods for treatment metabolic diseases and chronic urinary tract disorders by means of mineral waters [1]. Patients consume mineral water in the morning, afternoon and in the evening.

However, this method does not take into consideration the fact that the diurnal oxalate fluctuations in the urine aggravate to the limit at the night time and early in the morning [3]. The circadian rhythm of kidney function is that the distal tubular branch operates more intense in the night and morning hours – the water is absorbed and the urine volume decreases at night. To crush the lithogenesis in the urine the urine output must be increased, diuresis must be frequented, the compression of oxalates into the concrements must not be allowed. Thus, mineral water consumption within a day considering the circadian rhythm of kidney function enhances the efficacy of mineral water, promotes the renewal of normal time structure of the body in patients suffering from oxalate nephropathy.

It was conducted the investigation of the mineral water MAXAQUA extracted from a mineral water spring.

MAXAQUA mineral water is extracted in Amur Region and is sodium chloride water [2]. The content of silicic acid in it is 26 mg/ml. Such low content of silicic acid make MAXAQUA mineral water suitable for oxalate nephropathy therapy. The application of mineral water in the treatment of oxalate nephropathy promotes diuresis acceleration, dissolving and excretion of salt crystals and mucus from the kidneys.

Proposed is the method for therapy of patients suffering from oxalate nephropathy including the application of still mineral water of 18°C temperature in a dose of 200 ml per intake within 18 days. As mineral water MAXAQUA mineral water is used in the morning and in the evening 20 minutes before meals and going to bed.

The invention is used as follows. Under investigation were patients affected by oxalate nephropathy. They were divided into two groups – the main group and the control one. Patients in the control group received traditional medical therapy. Patients of the main group along with the medical treatment received still mineral water MAXAQUA of 18°C temperature in a dose of 200 ml per intake within 18 days. The water was taken in the morning and in the evening 20 minutes before meals. Such water intake on an empty stomach promotes better absorption of water and its lesser discharge. In addition to, the same amount of water was taken before going to bed. Such water dosage regimen considering the circadian rhythm of kidney function enhances its efficacy.

This is confirmed by laboratory data and ultrasonography results (Table 1). In case if ultrasonography revealed the presence of salts the mineral water intake was continued.

Table 1 illustrates valid data obtained before and after treatment the patients with oxalate nephropathy using mineral water MAXAQUA

Example I

Patient P., 30 years old. Diagnosis - oxalate nephropathy. Along with the medical therapy received treatment by still mineral water MAXAQUA during 18 days at water temperature 18°C in a dose of 200 ml 20 minutes before meals in the morning, in the evening and before going to bed. Indices before and after treatment are illustrated in Table 2.

After treatment by still mineral water MAXAQUA improved were: the indices of daily oxaluria , CaOx concentration in general urine analysis, diurnal urine calcium, the ability of the urine to inhibit calcium oxalate crystallization and ultrasonography results.
